Welcome This is a collection of tools, ideas, and resources for the independent scholar; people who like to think, learn, create. I am interested in both the processes and tools of learning, and in pursuing my personal interests. Most of what I'm thinking about at any given moment is reflected in my blog Cogito! Credo... I believe that there is more brilliance and genius among the ordinary people that is generally realized. Many of our best ideas have come from thinkers outside of academia, and will continue to do so. You are responsible for what you do with your own peculiar genius. Make the most of it! Here are some links and resources that will give you a taste of learning independently or, as I like to call it, guerrilla scholarship. The Independent Scholar's Handbook by Ronald Gross. Free downloadable .pdf file. I bought this book at the Exploratorium in San Francisco in 1985, and it literally changed my life. It's badly dated now, but still inspirational and worth reading. "Independent Scholarship. Are You Ready For Your Mental Marathon?" by Ron Gross "What is Your Learning Style? Learning Style Tests and Tips" By Kimeiko Hotta Dover. Everyone learns differently.
